Weighing it up?

Who's the mummy? Who's the daddy?
Since my arrival everyone who has seen me has asked who I look like most.
Do I look like mummy? (top)
Or do I look like daddy? (botttom)
Don't ask me, I have no idea. I have a preference, but I'm not going to tell you as I don't want to upset the other one. But he knows who I'm writing about.
Today I had my final visit from the midwife. I weighed eight pounds and three ounces. I've put on a whole pound this week. Daddy says if i carry on drinking milk the way I do he'll need to take out a second mortgage and get another bin to contain all the nappies I'm going through.

Water baby

According to mummy when boys grow up they don't like to wash and bathe as much. At the moment I'm loving it. I especially enjoy the jacuzzi moments!
Not sure when I'll be swimming the Channel yet but I'll keep you informed.

Growth

This week I've been piling on the ounces! In total I've put on 12 and now weigh 7 lb 3 oz. The average baby apparently puts on 4 to eight in a week. But I'm no average baby and I have some catching up to do. 20 days old now. I was supposed to arrive in another two days.

I'm trying hard to co-ordinate my eyes and arms. It's not easy but I'm already starting to demolish things that daddy makes for me. Is this a sign of things to come!

Learn your lesson.

Today Auntie Jo came to visit. She just can't get enough of me! So much in fact that mummy even showed her how to change a nappy. It's not difficult is it?
Well, tell that to daddy. Mummy went out leaving daddy to cope on his own. He tried to impress Auntie Jo with his childcare techniques.
But he has to learn his lesson. Just because I've done a number two doesn't mean I've finished! Daddy changed my wet nappy so I started with my party piece. As soon as he's put a fresh nappy on I did a number two.Quite a decent size one it was too. Anyway having cleaned me up he reached for another nappy and whilst he was distracted I did another number two. Daddy was amazed or was that shocked and surprised - I don't know the difference - he keeps pulling all sorts of funny faces.
So I let him clean me up again. But guess what? Oh yes I did!!!
I think he learnt a lesson !! Expect the unexpected.

Me phat new wheels innit.

Like it? I went out for the first time today since coming home from hospital with mummy. We went to see Nana Maria so it only took five minutes. Mummy isn't up to walking too far at the moment. As usual I slept through most of it.

Apparently mummy and daddy will invest a great deal of time reading to me and teaching me to read. I'll go to school and learn even more and be able to spell words with more then one syllable. (I don't know what a syllable is yet. But is sounds important.)

It don't matter though do it. In the end I'll just end up talking like all the other youth. That's just the way it is. Innit?

P.S Daddy says mummy is always nagging him over his spelling already.

Congratulations

Nathaniel John Dawson bn 08/09/07.

Dawson World domination continues.

Congratulations to the whole family.

A wim ba way, a wim ba way. . . . .

In the jungle , the mighty jungle, guess who sleeps tonight.

Big feet

People keep commenting on the size of my feet. Apparently they think they are quite big. Daddy says this doesn't excuse the size of my carbon footprint caused by my nappies. Luckily Grandma Jenny bought me a little tree to plant so this might offset the environmental harm. Maybe I'll be a naturalist when I'm older. My first trip into the jungle wasn't that exciting though.

Almost one week . . . .

. . . and they've made me have a bath again. If they really wanted to get wet they could have just changed me and I would have showered them myself. That's one thing I am good at already. I let mummy have more sleep than ever last night - 3 1/2 hours!!
Haven't decided a plan of action for tonight but there'splenty of time yet.

It's hard keeping parents up all night.

It's not easy keeping two people up all night. It starts to catch up with you.
At least the accommodation and service are of a 5 star rating. Food on demand any time of day or night. A first rate 24hr laundry service. And the entertainment isn't too bad either. Now I'm getting the hang of these beautiful blue eyes I'm starting to look around and pay more attention.
It was daddy's birthday today. He's starting to look his age - can't blame me though - I'm just a baby!

Day 2 in the little baby house......

....William is in the lounge catching some sunshine. Mummy is in the bathroom getting changed and daddy is drinking lots of caffeine. (said in a Geordie accent)
Apparently caffeine is a stimulant and keeps you awake. I don't know why daddy needs caffeine to stay awake. I've done that the last two nights just by demanding feeding and changing every two hours. Look at me now - as if butter wouldn't melt! Who's going to believe them when I look this cute!

Home sweet home

After almost 48 hours in hospital daddy was allowed to take mummy and I back home. I slept through most of it. It's quite nice - haven't inspected it too much so far because I'm still trying to focus - eyes? you don't get an instruction manual! Practice makes perfect.

Womb without a view.

It was good to get out of the dark. I'm not complaining though. It was a very comfortable place. It was just time to move on!

The story so far.......

I am the first born child of my mummy Elizabeth and daddy Matthew.

Mommy and daddy both went to Keele University, which is where they first met. Daddy graduated in 1994 but mummy went abroad for a year and didn't graduate until 1995.

Mommy and daddy kept in touch until October 2003 when mummy finally agreed to meet daddy again.

Daddy fell in love with mummy and mummy fell in love with daddy.
On valentine's day in 2004 daddy agreed to move so he could be with mummy all the time.

On 01/09/04 daddy took mummy away, made her walk up a big hill and asked her to marry him. Mummy said yes.
On19/08/06 mommy and daddy got married. It was a very special day.
12 months and one anniversary later here I am. I shouldn't have arrived until the end of September but I just couldn't wait. Three weeks and three days early after some pushing and shoving I popped out. I don't actually think it was that simple but that's why they call it labour.
